Lead Jefe ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Lead Jefe desktop application and the website at leadjefe.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.
By downloading or using Lead Jefe, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account & billing information โ your name, email address, and payment details when you purchase a license. Payment transactions are processed by PayPal; we do not store full card numbers.
- License key โ generated at purchase and used to activate the desktop app.
- Email credentials โ SMTP/IMAP credentials you enter in the app to connect your sending inbox. These are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
- Support communications โ messages you send to [email protected] or via our contact channels.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data โ anonymized telemetry such as features used, search counts, and error logs, used solely to improve the product. No personally identifiable lead data is included.
- License validation requests โ your IP address and license key are transmitted when the app checks activation status.
- Website analytics โ standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited) when you visit leadjefe.com.
Information you generate using the Service
Lead Jefe scrapes publicly available business information (names, emails, phone numbers, websites) on your behalf. This data is stored locally on your device. We do not store, access, or transmit the lead data you collect through the app.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver, activate, and maintain the Service
- Process payments and send purchase receipts
- Respond to support requests and communicate about your account
- Send product updates, security notices, and important account information
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized use of licenses
- Improve and develop new features based on anonymized usage patterns
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with data brokers.
Data Storage & Security
Your email credentials and all lead data collected through the app are stored exclusively on your local device. Lead Jefe does not transmit this data to our servers.
Account and billing information is stored on secured servers with access limited to authorized personnel. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for data in transit.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please contact us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Data Retention
We retain your account and billing information for as long as your license is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Anonymized usage telemetry may be retained indefinitely in aggregate form.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Your Rights below).
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

- Correction โ request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with or relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- PayPal โ payment processing (PayPal Privacy Policy)
- Anthropic (Claude API) โ AI email personalization. Prompts are sent to Anthropic's API; no personal lead data beyond the business name/website is included (Anthropic Privacy Policy)
- Google Maps โ public business data is scraped on your behalf. Lead Jefe does not share your personal data with Google as part of this process.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties and encourage you to review their policies.
Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults operating businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
